Intellectual migrations, starting as early as 1936 as a consequence of the Spanish Civil War, were followed by those of scholars who developed their work abroad. Among them we find the Valencian Ignacio Soldevila Durante who settled down in Quebec in 1956. Two years earlier he had written a letter to the writer Max Aub and with the passing of time he became his best friend as well as his best specialist. Soldevila-Aub\u27s epistolary (1954-1972) reveals, among other things, biographical facts and issues related to the writer\u27s work and to the crucial decades of the last century.
