Gambaran Infeksi pada Pasien Geriatri di Bangsal Penyakit Dalam RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang Periode Januari-Desember 2016

In aging process, the elderly will experience a progressive decrease of body's resistance to infection. The factors that cause geriatrics vulnerability to infection are the decreasing of organ physiology, decreasing of immunity, the number of chronic diseases, and malnutrition. Infections in geriatric is the most common cause of hospitalization. This study aims to determine the description of infection on geriatric patients in the internal disease ward of Dr. M. Djamil Padang hospital. This research is descriptive observational using medical record data of geriatric patients who have infection in internal disease ward of Dr. M. Djamil Padang hospital since January - December, 2016 and obtained 329 data that meet the criteria of this study’s sample. The data were processed by using univariate analysis. The results showed that in general, geriatric patient had 2 infectious disease. The most common infections were pneumonia (86%), followed by sepsis (44%), tuberculosis (24.6%), and kidney/urinary tract infections (11.6%). Based on the organ system, infection of the respiratory system is the most common group of infectious diseases. In addition to infection, chronic degenerative diseases that are commonly found in these geriatric patients are hypertension (80.5%), with the mean of chronic disease in each geriatric patient are 4 diseases. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan geriatri rentan terhadap infeksi meliputi penurunan fisiologi organ, penurunan imunitas, banyaknya penyakit kronis, dan malnutrisi. Infeksi pada geriatri merupakan penyebab rawat inap terbanyak pada pasien geriatri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran infeksi pada pasien geriatri di bangsal penyakit dalam RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif observasional dengan menggunakan data rekam medik pasien geriatri yang mengalami infeksi di bangsal penyakit dalam RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang periode 1 Januari – 30 Desember 2016 dan didapatkan 329 data yang memenuhi kriteria sampel penelitian. Data diolah dan kemudian dianalisis melalui analisis univariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pasien geriatri mengalami 2 penyakit infeksi. Infeksi terbanyak yang ditemukan pada pasien geriatri adalah pneumonia (86%), diikuti oleh sepsis (44%), tuberkulosis (24,6%), dan infeksi ginjal/saluran kemih (11,6%). Berdasarkan sistem organ, infeksi pada sistem respirasi merupakan kelompok penyakit infeksi yang paling banyak ditemukan. Selain infeksi, penyakit kronis degeneratif yang banyak ditemukan pada pasien geriatri ini adalah hipertensi (80,5%), dengan rerata penyakit kronis pada masing-masing pasien geriatri adalah 4 penyakit.
