Skripsi ini memaparkan hasil analisis terhadap novel karya Toni Morrison yang berjudul The Bluest Eye dengan menggunakan pendekatan psikoanalisis khususnya teori Alfred Adler yaitu Individual Psychology. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis masalah psikologis yang membuat tokoh Pecola Breedlove memiliki mimpi yang tidak realistis. Penelitian ini juga menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mendukung munculnya masalah psikologis dalam diri Pecola Breedlove. Penelitian ini akan membawa kita pada kesimpulan mengenai perkembangan kepribadian tokoh Pecola Breedlove. Penelitian ini menghasilkan dua kesimpulan.
