The effect of soxhletation treatment in the preparation of activated carbon from palm kernel shell was studied. Soxhletation treatment which was carried out before grinding of the palm kernel shells can accelerate the grinding process and decreasing the resistance of the supercapacitor celectrode until 27.363 Ω, electric charge and amount of electrons were increased respectively 3.547 Coulomb and 2.305 x 1015 elektron. The effect of soxhletation treatment also observed for the carbon surface area which is larger than without soxhletation about 133 times, so that the capacitance value was increased about 39 times (7.770 µF) than that of carbon without soxhletation (0.198 µF).
