This lesson, created by David Hayden of St. Peter Claver Catholic School, allows students to use the scientific method to create hands-on exhibits about energy resources, how energy resources are used, and the different types of energy. The lesson introduces students to the basics of earth materials (solid rocks, soils, water, and gases of the atmosphere), and the varied uses of each type material. Also touched upon is the difference between nonmaterial and material resources, and supply limitations.Designed for middle-school aged individuals, students will spend five days of class time discussing the role of energy in daily life, culminating in the development of a tri-fold board and a presentation to be delivered at an e...
