This paper proposes and discusses a study on edible coatings, its effect on the conservation of mango and avocado fruits and trends in the use of propolis as a natural alternative in its formulation. Recent studies show that the coatings have emerged as an emerging technology for post harvest storage, shelf life extension and improvement of fruit quality.
