Flebotomineos (diptera: psychodiae) infectados naturalmente por tripanosomatídeos (kinetoplastida: trypanosomatidae) em fragmentos florestais urbanos em manaus – amazonas (brasil)

The transmission of leishmaniasis desease, for the host vertebrata is by the bite of the phlebotomine sand flies vectors of the genus Lutzomyia (Diptera :Psychodidae) infected with the flagellate forms of the parasite.Sandfly collections were carried out from January 2002 to Abril 2009, at the tree trunk bases on which light traps of the “CDC modified”, type (CDC “miniature”- Hausherr Machine Works, New Jersey, EUA) that functioned as hand aspirators were placed, from 8:00 to 10:30 h, in the Forest patches surrounding the communities: São João, Cidade de Deus and Hiléia and in the Forest patches within of the Federal University of the Amazonas Campus as well as the one at the Sokai Gakkai reserve. All the forementioned forest patches are sited within the Manaus, Amazonas, Brasil. The work carried out in the present research caught a total of 2.612 sandfly (Diptera:Psychodidae) females. Out of these total 40% or 1.202 specimens, were dissected, from that total 26 females presented natural infection by Tripanosomatidae. The infection rate recorded in those áreas shows to be 2.02% (5/247) Cidade de Deus; 3.18% (12/377) São João; 1.27% (2/157) Hiléia; 1.85% (7/379) UFAM and no positive specimen for flagellates was recorder at the Sokai Gakkai reserve. The presence of Lutzomyia umbratilis show risk of transmition of American Tegumentary Leishmaniasis in theLa transmisión de la leishmaniasis para el vertebrado ocurre por la picada del vector flebotomino del género Lutzomyia, infectado con las formas flageladas del parásito.Durante El periodo enero de 2002 a abril de 2009,fueron realizadas colectas de flebotominos, en bases de árboles, en las cuales fueron utilizadas trampas luminosas del tipo CDC modificada que funcionó como aspirador manual (CDC “miniature”- Hausherr Machine Works, New Jersey, EUA), en el horario de 8:00 a las 10:30 horas, en los fragmentos de selva en los alrededores de las comunidades : São João, Cidade de Deus e Hiléia y en los fragmento de selva de la Universidad Federal del Amazonas y de la reserva Sokai Gakkai, todos esos fragmentos se encuentran localizados en el perímetro urbano del municipio de Manaos, Amazonas, Brasil. En esta investigación, fueron capturadas 2.612 hembras de flebotominos; y de ese total, 1.202 especímenes fueron hembras; 26 hembras presentaron infección natural por tripanosomas. La rata de infección registrada en esas áreas fueron: 2,02 % (5/247) en Cidade de Deus; 3,18% (12/377) en São João; 1,27% (2/157) en Hiléia; 1,85% (7/379) en UFAM; en la reserva Sokai Gakkai no fue registrado ningún espécimen con flagelados
