What Are We Throwing Away Around Here? Analyze Your School's Trash Stream Activity

This lesson from ATEEC will look into what is thrown in the trash on an average day. The activity would be most appropriate for technology studies or high school science classes. In all, it would require about one class session to complete. The purpose of the lesson is to examine the trash thrown away at a school. The instructor will collect the trash from the previous day, and the class will sort through and create and analyze data about what was thrown away. Extension activities are also provided.
