A discussion of the inculturation movement in Indian Catholicism that attempts to adapt Catholic liturgy and religious symbolism to Hindu culture. The article discusses the writings of Indian theologian D. S. Amalorpavadass, their reception, and reactions to them among Dalit (Untouchable) Catholics. The article focuses on the experimental Indian rite Mass as well as the overall relationship between theology and anthropology.
