Transhumanism: Ethical, Genetic, and Social Challenges

Transhumanism is integration of technology and human beings. It is the attempt to go beyond human nature and further human potential. In the not too distant future, this integration may change, for some at least, what it means to be a human being. While acknowledging the potential benefits of transhumanism, this paper examines three challenges that appear when dealing with the integration of transhumanism. The three challenges that must be faced when considering the possibility are related to ethical/moral controversies, the potential loss of genetic variation, and social/economic inequality. The paper also examines some ways to manage these challenges while finding ways to implement their solutions
