6/17/43 Moved from Btry. B at Arzew back to duty with Detachment Hqrs. at Mostaganem. Quartered in nice 3 room house halfway down cliff, right over the beach. Small garden filled with banana trees and stream of water running thru. Good beach and bathing except for rocks in water. 7/6/42 Left Mostaganem for Algiers Bivouaced over night at Orleansville. Before entering bivouac area, the convoy was besieged by hundreds of Arabs selling, tomatoes, melons, bread, onions, grapes, eggs, ice & plumbs. This is the first time the Battalion has together since leav- ing Ft. Dix. 7/7/43 Bivouaced overnight at Blida. 7/8/43 Arrived at Algiers at 1630 hrs. Bivouaced outside city
