KORELASI KADAR ASAM URAT DENGAN RESISTENSI INSULIN PADA OBESITAS

Background: Obesity is a global health problem which often associated with elevated uric acid level. Adipocytes hypertrophy and inflammation in obesity promoted insulin resistance. Insulin resistance and proinflammation cytokines had an important role in increased of cell apoptotic and tissue necrosis which caused elevated uric acid level. This study to investigate the correlation of uric acid level with insulin resistance in obesity. Method: This was an analytical study with cross sectional design towards 66 obese people at medical check-up department from Maret until November 2015.
