Late in the war, Richie Lane of St. Williams, Ontario began sending this series to his mother. He eventually rose to the rank of Major. His daughter Shirley is the wife of R.J. Whittington, the owner of this postcard collection. This reads: “Bexhill, Oct. 20, 1918. From time tot time I am going to send home a series of post cards showing some of the main generals we have served under during one year in France. Lots of love, Ritchie.” Image 4713https://digitalcommons.buffalostate.edu/commanders_all/1003/thumbnail.jp
