The present research work discusses the development of UV-spectrophotometric method for estimation of Naproxen. Simple, specific, accurate and cost effective spectrophotometric method has been developed for estimation of naproxen sodium in bulk as well as formulation. The optimum conditions for the analysis of the drug were established. The maximum wavelength (λmax) was found to be 331 nm. The validation was performed as per ICH guidelines for linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD and LOQ. The linearity was found in the concentration range of 3-24 µg / ml for Zero, first and second order derivative spectroscopy.
