PENGARUH SUBSTITUSI FLY ASH PADA BAHAN PENGIKAT CAMPURAN PAVING BLOCK DITINJAU DARI KUAT TEKAN, KEAUSAN DAN PENYERAPAN AIR

Abstrak Pemanfaatan limbah industri sering digalakkan untuk upaya pengendalian dampak terhadap lingkungan dan upaya pengelolalaan lingkungan. Material fly ash yang berasal dari sisa pembakaran batu bara dan merupakan limbah industri. Penggunaan fly ash sering kali digunakan sebagai substitusi semen karena bersifat pozzolan (bahan yang mengandung senyawa silika dan alumina). Penggunaan substitusi fly ash dalam pembuatan paving block ditujukan untuk mereduksi kadar volume bahan pengikat. Pada penelitian ini substitusi fly ash 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% 20% dan 25% terhadap bahan pengikat. Dengan adanya subtitusi fly ash dapat berpengaruh pada kuat tekan, keausan dan penyerapan air paving block. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pada paving block dengan menggunakan substitusi fly ash. Pada komposisi 3 penggunaan 10% substitusi fly ash memiliki nilai kuat tekan tertinggi yaitu 19,69 Mpa dibandingkan dengan komposisi yang lain. Sedangkan penyerapan air terendah pada komposisi 3 yaitu sebesar 4,20 % dan keausan 0,124 mm/menit dalam penelitian ini. Kata kunci : Fly ash, Keausan, Kuat tekan, Paving block, Penyerapan air, .
