The present investigation deals with to formulation and evaluation of colon specific drug delivery system of Tanoxicam by compression coated tablet technique. Tenoxicam, Avicel pH101, HPMC K4M, Guar gum were used as components.Tenoxicam compression coated tablets were prepared and evaluated for differential scanning colorimetry (DSC), FTIR spectroscopy and in-vitro dissolution study without rat caecal content and with rat caecal content. The results suggest that Colon specific drug delivery system of Tenoxicam compression coated tablets were formulated successfully by using natural polymer such as Guar gum in combination with different concentration of HPMC.
