Captación profunda para el abastecimiento de aguas a Málaga, España

This article describes the catchment of water by means of deep radial wells, to improve the water supply of Malaga. The project is located on the left bank of the Guadalhorce river, and takes advantage of the groundwater level in the river zone, as well as a second water layer, 60 m below the surface. The Ranney system was adopted, with horizontal drains and deep wells, consisting of two reinforced concrete boxes of differing diameter and length. The external box collects the water from the upper water layer, and the inner one collects the deep water. The project is completed by surface installations including the housing of pumping controls and the transformer substation. The wells are designed to collect, in the first stage 100 1/sec from the upper water level, and 300 1/sec from the lower level.En el presente artículo se describe la captación por pozo radial profundo destinada a mejorar el abastecimiento de aguas a Málaga. La obra está situada en la margen izquierda del río Guadalhorce, aprovechando el nivel subálveo de este río, así como una segunda capa acuífera semiartesiana situada a 60 m de profundidad. La captación se hizo por el sistema RANNEY, con drenes horizontales y pozo formado por dos cajones de hormigón armado de distintos diámetro y longitud. El cajón exterior recoge el agua del subálveo y el interior se surte del caudal profundo. Completan la obra las instalaciones de superficie para alojamiento de cuadros de maniobras de bombas y subestación transformadora.
