La mecánica ilustrada en los ingenieros militares españoles. El proyecto de los almacenes de pólvora (1715-1798)

El conocimiento y el intento de aplicación de este tipo de estructuras, especialmente en la construcción de polvorines, demostraría el conocimiento de la teoría científica de estas estructuras formulada por Hooke. El estudio de la Mecánica pre-científica fue reclamado por Juan de Herrera en la Academia de Matemáticas (1583), al igual que lo será la Mecánica científica en la Academia de Barcelona (1720). Por ello y ante la utilización del arco y bóveda catenaria, se demostraría también que aportaron las bases de la Mecánica moderna
