Pragmatism, one of the representative ideas in the contemporary world, is a new type of philosophy, which was born and has developed in the new soil of Amrica, different essentially from that of West Europe. In the first place, it was published by Charles Peirce in 1878 and evolved by William James in 1907,but completed in form by John Dewey. The pragmatism of Dewey is called instrumentalism or experimentalism. He laid an amphasis upon such ideas as change, situation, continuity, moving etc., interpreting "experience" as the dynamic interaction between the organism and the environment.
