The main purpose of this social university building is to house the means of serving 2750 meals daily to the students and academic staff. Its enclosing structure consists of precast concrete elements, and the central nucleus is made with concrete cast at the site. It comprises ten floor levels, details of which are as follows. The basement mentains the kitchens and ancillary services. On the ground floor is the hall, snack-bar, library and offices. The second floor is occupied by the administrative offices and changing rooms. The third, fourth and fifth floors are entirely taken up with a self-service restaurant. On the sixth floor there is another restaurant, served by waiters. There is a senior room on the seventh floor. The next three floor levels are a vertical extension of the central nucleus, and the space is mainly devoted to a common hall. Finally, on the 11th floor, there are rooms for exhibitions, music recitals, and similar cultural activities.La misión principal de este edificio social universitario es la de poder servir en su interior 2.750 comidas diarias a estudiantes y personal académico. Tiene estructura perimetral a base de elementos prefabricados de hormigón, y el núcleo central está construido con hormigón armado realizado in situ. Se compone de diez plantas: El sótano contiene las cocinas y servicios anexos. En la planta baja se distribuyen el hall, snack-bar, biblioteca y oficinas. En el entresuelo están los guardarropas del edificio y oficinas administrativas. Las plantas 1.ª, 2.ª y 3.ª alojan un restaurante, que funciona en régimen de autoservicio. En la 4.ª planta hay otro restaurante, con servicio a la carta, atendido por camareros. La 5.ª planta alberga la sala «senior ». Las plantas 7.ª, 8.ª y 9.ª, prolongación vertical del núcleo central, tienen una sala común. Y, finalmente, en la planta 10.ª se celebran diversas manifestaciones : exposiciones, recitales de música, etcétera
