Storm events from summer 2012 and base flow events from 2011-2012 were studied to determine the changes in stream water chemistry between high and low flow events of the tributaries flowing into Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire. Additionally, water samples that were collected from 2011 to 2012 were also analyzed to determine seasonal trends in stream water chemistry. Many streams had discharge patterns during high flow events that increased, peaked, and then decreased, which is the expected pattern during storm events. There were some streams with little or no discharge (e.g. King Hill Lower) which is likely because it is a stream that receives much of the water from ground water as opposed to through storms.
