Making the RTI process accessible to general elementary education teachers

As the instructional framework and collaborative problem-solving model of Response to Intervention (RTI) becomes more prevalent in school districts across the country, it brings with it change for the roles of general education teachers. The research question addressed in this capstone was, in order to improve participation in the RTI process at my school, what are the perceptions and concerns of the general education classroom teachers that could be addressed in an Intervention Team manual and website-based intervention resource? Through a study of the literature and personal experience as an Intervention Team member for several years, I have developed a manual explaining the purpose and process of the team for teachers, as well as resources for interventions they can implement for their at-risk students
