The research question addressed is, How Can a Multiracial, Female, Teacher, Build Positive Relationships with African American, Female, Students, in Order to Increase Their Academic Achievement? The motivation behind this topic stems from the author\u27s personal interactions with African American, female, students, in her classroom over the course of her career. Because of the negative interactions between herself and the students stemming from the concept of race, physical appearance, and identity the author explored the origins of the color complex in the United States in reference to African Americans.
