This capstone documents the research and explains the core concepts of Applied Behavior Analysis, a method of instructing students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The research culminated in the creation of a training manual for professionals to learn how to use these techniques. The motivation for this capstone was driven by a lack of available training to educators in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis. The first component of this capstone was extensive research on Autism Spectrum Disorders, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Staff Development/Training. This research highlighted a need for the creation of a comprehensive training manual that school districts can use to educate adult learners on these core concepts.
