The research question addressed in this project was, How does the integration of technology affect learning and motivation in the middle level mathematics classroom? This case study documents one teacher\u27s use of technology, including interactive whiteboards, individual student responders, and Study Island software program, to explore the effects on student motivation and achievement. The author describes both the successes and struggles of implementing technology. Methods include a student survey, student interviews, and Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) student test scores. The author concludes that: 1) technology is a powerful accelerator of learning and 2) technology increases motivation in the middle level classroom
