The purpose of this capstone was to explore how I could best use community building in my third grade classroom to enhance my students\u27 sense of belonging. Six community building strategies were implemented over a six week period of time. Data was gathered from student survey responses, student journal responses and teacher journal responses in order to determine if the strategies chosen illustrated characteristics of community. The six strategies used in the study proved to be examples of how I could best use community building in the elementary classroom to enhance my students\u27 sense of belonging
