Ontologies serve multiple roles in knowledge systems including the standardization of different vocabularies within an enterprise, the integration of disparate data sources into a single model, and enabling reasoning over data. The mini-symposium on graph data structures will cover all of these roles but will focus primarily on the use of ontologies as the logical model for graph representations of data.
