Can demonstrations of environmentally friendly behaviors with incentives for participation change environmental attitudes and behaviors in high school students?

Behaviors that affect our environment are one of the most important habits children establish during their formal education years. The current state of the environment and the many threats that are at our doorstep makes our collective behavior a concern to all of us. This study attempted to influence student\u27s behavior and attitudes toward more green practices. Presentations about ways individuals can influence their environment were presented over one semester. Small incentives were offered for students who practiced new green behaviors. Students were surveyed using a fifteen statement Likert scale questionnaire. Their parents and a control group from a neighboring school also took the survey. Over the course of the study, the presentations and activities did not change students behaviors or attitudes
