This capstone project examines the correlation between self-efficacy and achievement in middle school science classrooms, specifically looking at gender. Three main research questions were investigated. First, is there a correlation between academic self-efficacy and science achievement? Second, does gender play a role in the correlation between gender academic self-efficacy and achievement? The third question is: Is there a correlation between gender and the relationship between academic self-efficacy and achievement? The author found there to be a strong positive correlation between self-efficacy and achievement in all subgroups examined
