The Black American achievement gap in Minnesota is widening as Black American students continue dropping out of school. If Black American students are going to finish school and be successful in society, then change needs to happen. A part of this change deals directly with the preparation, training, and quality of the teachers who teach in highly diverse classrooms. Since the majority of Minnesota\u27s teachers are White, it is important that White teachers consider their own biases towards Black Americans. Participating in activities that promote self-reflection does this.
