This capstone focuses on what types of nonverbal communication including gestures, eye contact, proximity and teacher attire are most effective in assisting teachers with classroom management and behavior redirection. The methods used to study the effectiveness of nonverbal cues were a survey and observation. The need for nonverbal communication training is evident with the observations conducted and research collected. This capstone gives suggestions to teachers regarding behavior redirections and the need for nonverbal redirections. The survey also gives teachers a good idea of what types of redirections students recognize and prefer in the classroom
