Environmental education leadership: a descriptive study

How do environmental education leaders describe leadership in their field? How do formal and non-formal environmental education leaders in Minnesota describe the differences and similarities between environmental education and environmental advocacy? At a time when environmental pressures are shaping economic growth and social justice, and human and educational pressures are pushing public education toward standardized testing of decontextualized learning, these questions are critical for the future of environmental education. This qualitative study uses autobiographical statements and interviews to explore how leaders in Minnesota\u27s environmental education community describe leadership in their field, and the possibility that the line between education and advocacy is actually two sides of a coin
