This study examined the influence a home/school audiobook program had on the home reading experiences and retell abilities of three ESL (English as a second language) kindergarteners. The three Spanish-speaking students and their families were interviewed to discover (1) how students felt about using the audiobooks and (2) what parents observed about their children\u27s experiences using audiobooks. Data was also collected from student retells the stories from the audiobooks. Finally, anecdotal evidence from the classroom helped determine how using audiobooks affected the students\u27 engagement with books.
