Zielinski or Dave Garrison. Undated, possibly produced in 1960s-1980s. Part of the Cal R. Fremling collection. Postcard index: - Mississippi Steamboats. Three boats (steamers St. Paul, Silver Crescent and J.S. [John Streckfus]) docked at Davenport, Iowa. The Silver Crescent was a log rafting boat, while the larger boats ran mostly excursions. - Steamboat Burlington. Built in Pittsburgh in 1837. Shipped furs, and such notable passengers as John C. Fremont and artist George Catlin. Photo courtesy of Dave Garrison. - Steamboat Saint Paul. An expensive excursion boat built in St. Louis in 1883. It weighed well over 200 tons and was 300 feet long. Paddlewheel had 26\u27 diameter. - Steamboat North Star. A Mississippi River log raft boat, built in the mid 1850s. Photo was taken in Davenport, Iowa. - Steamboat J.S.
