This study focuses on peer conflict among preschool children in free play. First, developmental changes in antecedents and outcomes of peer conflict, and the types of strategies that children use to resolve peer conflict are discussed. Next, observations of preschool children in free play situation are described. Its purpose is to analyze differences in the types of strategies that children between three and four years old use to resolve peer conflict. The results showed that three-year-old children use both non-verbal behavior strategies and verbal strategies, but four-year-old children use more verbal strategies than non-verbal behavior strategies.
