PENGGUNAAN STRATEGY ROLE PLAY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN SKILL DAN KETERTARIKAN SISWA DALAM SPEAKING

This study aims to improve students' speaking ability and increase student interest in speakingclass at STIKes Perintis Padang by using role play strategy. This is classroom action research methodsthat aimed at addressing problems in students' ability to speak English. This study was conducted in 2cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Qualitative data obtainedthrough observation and diaries, while the quantitative data obtained through tests and questioners. Theresults of this study show that the implementation of role play strategy has been successful since there isan increase in students' speaking ability. The results of the study showed an increase in students 'speakingability and improvement of students' interest in student learning
