現代家族の諸問題 : 家族社会学の現代的課題

As a result of rapid change of the modern society, the family has changed in many aspects. These changes have been taken up as the research subjects in sociological studies of the family. Comparing the sociological studies of the family in Japan with those in America, we find many projects to be necessarily undertaken in Japan. The main projects are as follows; (1) Comparative studies of various families in a large scale. (2) Studies of the problems of women\u27s status and role. (3) Studies of the changing family in the context not only from past to present but also from present to future. After the above mentioned comparisons have made, we may arrange the main subjects of sociological studies of the modern family as follows; [table] Attempting to apply the above mentioned method on the study and to construct a hypothetical theory, this paper examines the following main problems of the modern Japanese family; (1) How the Japanese family has been changing after the War? What is the main task for the future of the Japanese family? (2) How to understand the concept of "modern family"? What is the difference between the "companionship family" and the "colleague family"? (3) How the status and role of women have been changing in the modern family as well as in the society
