La emancipación intelectual en la sociedad digital: El maestro ignorante de Rancière en nuestros días

In The Ignorant Schoolmaster, Jacques Rancière question the knowledge transmission model from schoolmaster to student. Rancière/Jacotot challenged explanation as an educational method and redefined the role of the actors in the educational process. On one hand, the schoolmaster cease to be mediator between text and student to become facilitator of learning; on the other hand, student is not anymore an ignorant intelligence to become the main character of his/ her own learning.Our paper makes a new reading of The Ignorant Schoolmaster in the light of digital society. The emancipatory message of Rancière shed new light on current problems: such as, “crisis” of the experts and role of authority in the digital sphere, autonomous and lifelong learning approaches, disintermediation process in Internet, change of educational institutions and schoolmasters’ roles, and maker culture.This new approach to Rancière`s book is put in context with the works of John Dewey, Jean Piaget (Constructivism), Jerome Bruner (Discovery learning) o Seymour Papert (Construccionism), among others.En El maestro ignorante, Jacques Rancière cuestiona el modelo de transmisión de conocimiento entre maestro y discípulo. El dúo Rancière-Jacotot impugna la explicación como recurso educativo, redefiniendo el papel de los actores en el proceso. Por un lado, el maestro deja de ser un mediador entre texto y alumno para convertirse en una especie de facilitador. Por el otro, el estudiante deja de ser una inteligencia ignorante necesitada de asistencia para convertirse en el verdadero protagonista de su aprendizaje.Nuestra propuesta supone una relectura de El maestro ignorante en el contexto de la sociedad digital. El discurso emancipador de Rancière adquiere nuevos matices y sentidos en el conjunto de problemáticas actuales; entre ellas, la “crisis” de los expertos y el papel de la autoridad en el espacio digital, las propuestas de aprendizajes autónomos, el proceso de desintermediación, el cambio de roles de los maestros y de las instituciones educativas, y de manera especial, la cultura maker. Esta nueva lectura se pone en contexto con las aportaciones de John Dewey, Jean Piaget (constructivismo), Jerome Bruner (aprendizaje por descubrimiento) o Seymour Papert (construccionismo), entre otros
