Analysis and Design of Bare Frame and Frame with Infill for Spacing of Beam of 4m Considering SSI Effect

The response of a structure to earthquake shaking is affected by interactions between three linked systems: the structure, the foundation, and the soil underlying and surrounding the foundation. Soil-structure interaction analysis evaluates the collective response of these systems to a specified ground motion. The terms Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) and Soil-Foundation-Structure Interaction (SFSI) are both used to describe this effect. Generally, building rest on fixed base condition if fixed supports are replaced by multilinear spring then that interaction is called ‘Soil–Structure Interaction. Response of structure depends on properties of soil, structure and nature of the excitation. The process in which the response of soil influences the motion of structure is referred as ‘Soil Structure Interaction.’ In this study, I have analyzed and designed 13 storied building with variation in spacing of beam from 4m to 6m with 0.5 m interval. For representation of SSI considered flexible base and comparing behavior between fixed base (Rigid base) and Flexible base for soft soil is presented in this paper
