Imported fresh produce accounted for 44% of fresh vegetables and fruits consumption in U.S. in 2010. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the rise in fresh vegetables and fruits import upsurges the risks of foodborne illness. The main goal of this study was determine the prevalence of pathogenic bacteria in imported fresh produce in Nashville metropolitan area.
