道徳の時間における読むことの意味 : 国語科における読みとの比較から

What are the differences between the moral education class and the Japanese language class? Are there any differences in literature text reading between the two? These have been important questions raised by both moral education and Japanese language teachers since the moral education class started in 1958. As the two classes have been conducted separately and independently, it has been impossible for Japanese language class teachers to properly define a positioning of the Japanese class in relation to that of the moral education class, and vice versa. Taking advantage of my unique position of being a researcher both in Japanese language education and the moral education, I attempted find an appropriate positioning of respective classes by comparing and analyzing the two classes. At this time, mainly from the standpoint of a Japanese language education researcher, I reviewed how the positioning of respective classes has been developed, and examined the reasonableness of each positioning. First, I canalized and examined the views that some of the Japanese language education researchers had relating to the moral education, and then, based on the survey results, reviewed how such views are reflected in the performance of the teachers and would-be teachers, and how they create a difference between the Japanese language and moral education classes. As a result, it was revealed that there are clear differences in how they view the moral education depending on the difference in their views toward the Japanese language education: language education or literature education; or methodological teaching or content oriented teaching
