The objective of this study is to identify the factors that affect the high prevalence of goiter among elementary school students in goiter endemic area. The specific objective are to identify the socio-economic characteristics of the sample family, to analyze food consumption related to goiter, to identify the variety of food contains of goitrogenic substances, to measure the iodium salt concentration, to analyze the correlation between mother knowledge about IDD, food consumption and the quality of salt with the goiter status.
