AbstractPaddy field soil condition is an important factor to be considered in designing a lug wheel for paddy field cultivation. To get the optimum wheel design, the wheel traction performance should be predicted before constructing the wheel. The purpose of this research were 1) to develop a prediction method of lug wheel performance, 2) to analyze the performance of lug wheel, and 3) to select the best configuration of lug wheel design. Tractive performance prediction method was developed based on the forces acting onactive lugs when the wheel operates in the soil.
