A Novel Energy-Link Failure Recovery Routing (E-LFRR) Algorithm for QOS Optimization in Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection ofsensor devices capable of sensing and transmittingenvironmental changes to a common base station (BS) or sink.Energy efficiency and lifetime enhancement is complex in thesenetworks due to lack of centralized control system, dataintensive nature and battery limited communications. Severalenergy preserving techniques including clustering and treebased routing were proposed to overcome energy drain anddata handling issues, as a part of optimizing network. The foresaid authentication process compromise with Quality ofService (QoS) and increases complexity that ceases theperformance of the routing algorithm. We propose anintegrated approach for energy optimization and noderecovery post failure method, Energy-Link Failure RecoveryRouting (E-LFRR) algorithm that utilizes both traditionalrouting process and specific node selection scheme in anadaptive fashion. E-LFRR monitors node energy level throughMonitored Transmission (MT) and pursues communicationthrough Replaced Transmission (RT. E-LFRR intend tominimize early energy drain and uncontrolled broadcasts inthe network. Simulation results prove the combined approachminimizes overhead, energy utilization and delay, retainsappreciable count of alive nodes and thus improving networkperformance
