Charlotte Brontë (1816-1855) is an English writer whose life has affected her writings especially in the story of Jane Eyre (1847). In this novel, we have a young woman who faces and then overcomes different obstacles in her journey to maturity and satisfaction. Charlotte in this novel depicts glances from her own and her sisters’ lives. This research deals with the symbolic nature of the story interpreted through the use of “dreams” and their significance as a tool used by the authoress to reveal the inner world of her heroine adding a depth to our understanding of the novel.
