This small carved moss agate round bowl has curving ribbed sides and two flower-loose-ring handles. It stands on a relatively high footring supported by an intricately carved wood stand. The lace-like moss agate texture is exquisite; it aesthetically enhances the value of the piece. The overall shape and design makes it hard to categorize the shape and the function of this bowl. Therefore, it is difficult to date this bowl since it does not resemble any distinctive type. It may have been produced to meet the endless demands of the enthusiastic Western collectors or to function as a household decorative object
