Webmail Server Operation and its Influence on Computer Literacy Education

Recently, many famous portal sites have constructed and operate webmail systems. Webmail systems are used for e-mail on a WWW browser. The system makes it possible to use e-mail easily without an initial configuration. There are some kinds of webmail server software. Using free software, we can construct a webmail system without expenses. On the other hand, information technology is advancing quickly. The IT-ization of everyday life is progressing. Therefore, all students need basic computer literacy for their lives. However, the difference between student's computer literacy is growing. Thus, computer literacy education becomes more difficult each year. In this paper, I investigate the operation of a webmail server and how it influences computer literacy education.
