Disaster events can result in mass casualties and missing persons, giving rise to a need to provide information about victims to the public. This can be achieved by digitally documenting information available at emergency medical care centers in the form of pictures. The images and other identifying information, such as fingerprints, cannot be broadcast due to privacy concerns, leading to a need to extract appearance--related non-unique features from this data to facilitate locating missing persons.
