Reduction Of Well Iron Content Using Ferrolite Medium In Water Filter Backwash System

The sample of this study is taken from well water at Griya Mariana PermaiDistrict, Banyuasin , South Sumatra. They Complained the well water isturned into yellow after filtering with the sand, and if used from sewingwith ditergent it is turned blackish.The well water is flowed into the fillerwith the initial by using a 4 inch PVC pipe with 130 cm into height with theinitial condition are pH 3, Fe 4.58, turbidity 10 Ntu. the height of ferrolite -silica sand - active carbon are varried : a.15cm-30cm-30cm b.25cm-30cm-30cm c.35cm-30cm-30cm d.45cm-30cm-30cm after treatment the result ofFe contained are : a.15cm-30cm-30cm: 1,26mg / l, b.25cm-30cm-30cm:1.12mg / l, c .30 cm-30cm-30cm: 0.86mg / l, d.40 cm-30cm-30cm 0.32 mg /l And the optimum condition of decreasing Fe contained is at the mediumd.45cm-30cm-30cm : 93.01%
