The article describes the changes that the M. Zmigrodzki Public Library in Sucha Beskidzka has undergone over the past six years The key point here is the term third place and the potential of public libraries in this area. We offer examples of participatory social activities in the library, including fantasy club and grass-root cultural projects.Artykuł opisuje zmiany, jakie dokonały się w ciągu ostatnich sześciu lat w Bibliotece Suskiej im. dr. M. Żmigrodzkiego w Suchej Beskidzkiej. Głównym obszarem jest problematyka „trzeciego miejsca” i potencjału bibliotek publicznych w tym zakresie. W tekście opisano przykłady praktyk partycypacji społecznej w bibliotece, m.in. działalność klubu miłośników fantastyki i będące oddolną inicjatywą projekty kulturalne
